2024 Schloss Vollrads Goethe Riesling (6 pack)

With a history dating back to 1211, Schloss Vollrads is one of the oldest wineries in the world and a founding member of the VDP, an association of Germany’s top Riesling growers. Goethe is sourced from the estate’s vineyards planted on shale and Taunus quartzite, 100% fermented in stainless steel, and clocks in at 11.5% alcohol. Compared with the 2023 which many of you enjoyed 24 is 2024 feels more mineral and citrus-driven, less immediately fruity with more pronounced smoky mineral notes.

Named after Germany’s most famous poet, Goethe, who spent time at the estate, the Goethe riesling is Insanely versatile as a pairing wine, most of my recent shipment has already found its way onto the tasting menus of Toronto’s top restaurants, but I still have a few cases left.
